Learn to Draw (in only 1 hour) is a dynamic, interactive, hands-on event for employees at all levels, from interns to your C-suite, perfect for company retreats, lunchtime speaker series, your event guests, and more.

"I’ve seen a lot of corporate speakers—Rick’s event was unique and a lot of fun. I highly recommend it."

The event has been described as "meditative," "self-care for the brain and mind," and a catalyst for "stimulating creativity." By simply asking questions, giving tips along the way, and sharing inspiring stories, creative director Rick Penn-Kraus guides the audience members through the daunting task of drawing a portrait in about an hour. They start with a rendering on their own, and end with a pencil portrait that is recognizable. What seemed impossible at the beginning becomes a reality by the end.

Goals:

  • Disengage from work for an hour

  • Learn a skill you thought was impossible

  • Feel empowered to achieve in other areas of life

  • Have fun

"It's a before and after experience that will delight you and make you realize you are far more capable than you previously thought. Who wouldn't enjoy that? Rick is the real deal."

Rick's talk is filled with humor, inspiration, and endless possibilities. Requiring only tables (or laps), paper, pencils, erasers, and computer laptop projection  for larger groups, Rick brings staff back to the analog age of their youth.

"100+ RAND staff participated in the hands-on lunchtime program, and it was a huge success. Most of us could not draw when we started, but by the end of lunch, we were all shocked at how great our drawings turned out."
